Top 10 Reasons 10. You’re saving two lives instead of one. One more kitten will get a home instead of growing into a teen and then adult which is harder to place. When kittens are adopted right way, the older cats have a better chance at finding homes. 9. One kitten can become lonely and bored. A kitten left alone during the day can become lonely and bored, which sometimes can lead to mischief. Two kittens will never be lonely. In fact, you'll often find shelters that will only let kittens be adopted in pairs. Siblings are the best bet, but any two kittens of the s ame age should do nicely. Kittens especially need feline companionship. Like any immature animal, they need stimulus: activity, play, grooming. Another feline friend at home, is ideal.

As much as you may love your new kitten, one thing you cannot offer him is feline companionship. Even if you spend a great deal of time at home, you also cannot be available to your new pet at all times. Having a fellow kitten in the household can help occupy your cat while you tend to necessary tasks such as housework and bill paying - and when you need to leave the house.
Even the most devoted human caregiver can quickly become exhausted by trying to keep up with the energy of a single kitten. Two kittens will wear each other out, leaving their human parent free to just enjoy watching them. A single kitten will likely keep an owner up at night, continuing to play long after the lights have been turned off. A pair of young cats, on the other hand, will often entertain each other - effectively tiring eacother out.
